Rules and Scoring for the Sugar Free Fantasy Baseball League
My Doughnut Hole
1 The Sugar Free Fantasy Baseball League is composed of preferably an even-numbered set of teams, under a split-season format. The team with the best W-L record after the All-Star Break will meet the 2nd half champion in as many games as the real World Series lasts to determine the League Championship. In the event the same team wins both halves, the team with the 2nd best overall W-L Pct. over both halves goes to the League Championship. The winner of that Championship, signs the Holy Ball. What more do you want? You're too cheap to pitch in for prize money.
2. Teams will be stocked by means of a draft, to be held.
3. Each team will draft one player at each position and five pitchers.
4. Draft order will be determined by a drawing before the draft starts.
5. Players will have salaries roughly based on those found in The Sporting News Fantasy Baseball magazine, now on sale. Everyone should try to print out a copy of the prices at commissionergimpy.blogspot.com
6. Each team will have a $300 salary cap, which must be maintained during the season.
7. Each team must have a team nickname that is offensive to all Republicans..
8. Once teams are stocked, and the season is underway, only one change or trade can be made per week, unless a.) a player winds up on the DL or b.) a player is sent to the minor leagues or c.) he retires or dies in an act of terrorism.
9. A player in each circumstance can be replaced at any time, regardless whether that team has already changed out a player.
10. Scoring is based on actual player performances. The point values are below.
11. 50% of the best point totals of the day will get a win. The rest are charged with a loss. but......
12. For a day to count in the standings, at least four games in each league in real life have to be played. If four games are being played in one league and only three in the other. The games do not count in the standings, but........
13. Totals are kept for the week. The teams with the highest total number of points in a week, regardless how many games were played in real life, get a win, provided they finish in the top half. The bottom half totals get a loss.
